About the Artist

Leee Hockenberry

Leee Hockenberry's artwork often deals with dark, funny, and strange imagery. Perhaps growing up where the sun perpetually shines in Southern California has caused Hockenberry to be more intrigued by the dark, shadowy side of life. She is currently completing a Master of Fine Arts degree in printmaking at California State University of Long Beach. Hockenberry prefers eyes plucked from the socket; her hand-printed, very small edition prints often include eyes, but these peepers rarely have lids to protect them! In this form the eye commands attention as it resembles a bull's-eye, and a naked woman's breast. All at once it becomes ominous, morbid, and darkly humorous. Her fascination with eyeballs led her to madmartian.com! She has been a good customer and a big fan of this website for a long time, and she is thrilled to share her art with madmartian.com's customers.
